D.A.R.G makes the headlines...

The BBC has aired a report via D.A.R.G that highlighted the deplorable state of access for deaf people in Wales, and beyond.  It is the first time, that an independent report has taken precedence over an charitable or state-developed one, and from a grass root deaf person at that.  It shows us all, we do not need to rely on others to state OUR need we are more than capable and professional enough to do it ourselves, at least D.A.R.G doesn't relate how hard it is for the system to cope with us, it states what the system failings are doing TO us.

From the BBC site:

"A report by the Deaf Access Research Group found that 90% of GP surgeries in Wales were failing to provide deaf and hard of hearing patients with reasonable alternative methods of accessing their appointments system, such as text or email. Generally, the only way to book out-of-hours appointments is on the telephone."

D.A.R.G. is the Deaf Access Research Group run by Ian Crimond, it also has an Twitter site, which is open to anyone that wants to join or campaign with  D.A.R.G too.  The whole organisation is honed to lobby for health support and access for all deaf and others with hearing loss, D.A.R.G. doesn't 'specialise', it isn't 'Deaf' this, , 'deaf' or HI' that',  it campaigns for all regardless.  D.A.R.G. doesn't support one-sided campaigns.

Well Done Mr Crimond.....  Thanks to BBC (WALES) too for giving Ian Crimond the credibility he deserved. It is important to note the BBC airing was a result of DARG hard work.
